Rewilding Your Work: Introduction to Ecotherapy Applications for Helping Professionals
Growing interest and research in nature-based therapies has practitioners curious about taking their sessions beyond the office walls – yet uncertain as to how.
Integrating wild environments into counseling means more than just re-locating your sessions. Ecotherapy takes both therapist and client beyond an outdated, mechanistic view of self-as-separate from the world, and helps to restore wholeness.
Join me in Rewilding Your Work, a two or four-day workshop in which we will embrace the opportunity and responsibility to be nature-connected and ecologically-literate practitioners while learning approaches to collaborating with the more-than-human world.
Rewilding Your Work is not meant to be prescriptive, but generative; to catalyze your own awareness of nature and your creativity in natural settings. You are also likely to find this course personally nourishing.
These ideas and experientials are vital at a time when the domestication of our planet, our lifestyles, our emotions, and the field of psychotherapy itself is at an all-time high – threatening the health and sanity of the human animal and global ecosystems.
April and July workshops include:
Your visions and dreams of a nature-connected practice and world
Rewilding the Homo sapien
Assessing and engaging the Ecological Self
Developing the uncommon assets: Naturalist Intelligence & Ecological literacy
Safety and regulation in nature
Nature-based experiential ideas for clients’ presenting concerns such as disordered eating, life transitions, relational issues, compromised self-esteem, and stress disorders
Explore possible therapeutic applications of biomimicry, bird language, animal tracking and environmental awareness
Practicalities of setting up and running Ecotherapy sessions
One-hour consultation (post-workshop) with Kimberly on the phone to apply concepts to your specific work
October 2020 Saturday 17th 9:00am-4:00pm Sunday 18th 10:00am - 4:00pm
The one-hour consultations will be arranged individually between Kimberly and participant.
Due to shifting seasons and participants, and the nature of spontaneity, it would be advantageous to attend both. However, each workshop can stand on it's own and may be attended individually.
Each day of the workshop will begin at our ranch on Lookout Mountain west of Golden, Colorado.
We will then venture outdoors to local natural areas or on land surrounding our property.
Weather may determine outing locations.
Each 13-hour workshop + the one-hour consultation: $250 and includes light breakfast in the mornings.
Payment is required upon acceptance to the workshop. Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel prior to one week before the workshop, a $200 refund will be issued minus $50 (which can be applied as credit toward any future Rewilding program).
In an attempt to keep these events small, intimate, and focused, attendance will be kept to a minimum. If you have questions regarding details or contents, please call or email.
To apply, complete the brief questionnaire below. I will respond within 48 hours to let you know if there is space still remaining. If so, you will be registered and the fee will be collected (Paypal, Venmo, Check, Credit Card).

What Our Participants Are Saying:
I go hiking all the time, but wanted some depth to my outings. That is exactly what I got! I learned about plants and birds near where I live, while learning about myself and how I relate to them all. Kimberly is engaging, inspiring, and fun. I left feeling like a part the area we hiked instead of an outside visitor, and more connected to this beautiful place I call home! - Joyce R.
